ABOUT OUR COMPANY
Laurence Harbor Fire Company is an all volunteer company. We proudly provide a wide range of fire protection services to a beach community with an area encompassing approximately 3.1-square miles. We are of a diverse population, approximating 5,800 people.
We operate out of 2 stations, and protect a primarily residential area that is mixed with some commercial and industrial facilities. Included within our District are the following: Cooper Elementary School, Memorial elementary School, the MetroPark complex consisting of 2 multi-storied office buildings, Parkview at Madison a 240-unit apartment complex, an ever growing townhouse development known as Bridge Pointe with over 300 units and Industrial Dr. with around a dozen Industrial Warehouses.
Our area of Fire-Rescue coverage includes: Laurence Harbor, Cliffwood Beach, Genoa, approximately a 4-mile stretch of the Garden State Parkway, (mile markers 123 to 119, north and south), part of Cheesequake State Park, the shoreline of Raritan Bay, (from the Morgan Bridge on the north to Whale Creek on the south), an approximate 2-mile length of New Jersey Transit railway and an approximate half-mile stretch of Cheesequake Creek.
We also are called upon to provide mutual aid to Cheesequake ( District #2 ), the towns of Morgan, South Amboy, Cliffwood, Matawan and any other that make the call. Our department is a quasi-governmental organization; the members of which, are on a volunteer status, and maintain a 24/7 vigilance. We maintain 3-Pumpers, 1-Rescue Pumper, 1-Medium Rescue Truck, 1-Brush Truck, 2-Marine Boats, 1-Brush ATV, 1-Chief's Vehicle, 1-Assistant Chief's Vehicle and 1-Support Vehicle. We currently carry an ISO rating of 4.
